Research Areas

Our research hinges on re-examining the types of forest products and services that are most conducive to the long-term health and wellbeing of communities and identifying tools and approaches that will strengthen forest-dependent communities in transition. FACT is committed to responding to emerging research themes that address the goals of sustainability of forests and the communities that depend upon them, both in British Columbia and worldwide. Recognizing the priorities outlined in The Report of the Working Roundtable on Forestry (2009)1 and the changing global context, we emphasize international learning opportunities and currently address four Research Areas.
